Fish for Halibut on a Ketchikan Charter Boat

Embark on an unforgettable halibut fishing adventure aboard a Ketchikan charter boat. Begin your adventure by meeting your representative at the pier, followed by a brief walk to the awaiting fishing boat, which can comfortably accommodate up to six guests. This Ketchikan shore tour uses boats with an elementary head that vary in length from 28' to 40'. Departing from Ketchikan, your captain will record the necessary information in the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) log as you head out to deeper waters.

Halibut, the largest among flatfish species, will be the primary focus of your fishing expedition. Some of these remarkable fish can exceed 400 pounds and are typically found near the ocean floor, at depths ranging from 90 to 900 feet.

Your experienced captain, who holds a Coast Guard license, will not only guide you in your fishing endeavors but also take pride in showcasing the awe-inspiring beauty of Ketchikan from a unique local perspective, right on the water. Be prepared to witness glimpses of the local wildlife, including mammals and birds such as whales, seals, sea otters, porpoises, and sea lions.

All the necessary fishing equipment, tackle, and bait are provided, ensuring a hassle-free experience. If you desire, there's an option to have your catch processed and shipped to your home for an additional fee, ensuring your catch remains fresh and ready to savor.

Please Note: Boats available for this tour accommodate groups of up to 6 guests maximum. Halibut may only be caught and kept by four visitors. When making a reservation, please keep this information in mind. Mandatory- State of Alaska fishing licenses and king salmon tags must be purchased ONLINE AND PRINTED BEFORE YOUR TRIP. Not having this printed and in hand the day of the trip will take up valuable fishing time. And may result in not being able to participate. Please go to https://store.adfg.alaska.gov Get the one-day Non-Resident fishing license for $15 US and $15 US to purchase a king salmon tag. The purchase of the king stamp is a requirement if you are fishing for king salmon. Not having the King Stamp bought before the fishing trip means you will not be able to keep a king salmon if caught. Please see the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website for current retention regulations for non-resident charter fishing. All guests ages 16 and older must have a license. Each child booked under 18 for this tour must be accompanied by at least one adult over 18-the weight limit for this tour is 350 lbs per person. Passengers must be able to get in and out of the vessel unassisted. With advance notice, collapsible wheelchairs may be taken aboard some of the charter vessels, and motorized carts/wheelchairs may be used to get to the boat; they can be stored inside the secure office and returned after the charter.
